Abu Dhabi Announces Partial Road Closures
Temporary lane closures and full street restrictions take effect on Al Fursan and Al Khaleej Al Arabi Streets for scheduled maintenance works.
Motorists in the capital are being advised of significant temporary traffic changes as partial road closures come into effect along Al Fursan Street and Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street (E20). The restrictions, scheduled to run from Friday, April 10, to Monday, April 13, 2026, are part of essential scheduled works aimed at improving infrastructure.
According to Abu Dhabi Mobility, the right lane on Al Fursan Street, heading towards Abu Dhabi, will be closed starting at 2:00 pm on Friday and will remain shut until 5:00 am on Monday. While traffic flow will continue on the remaining lanes, drivers should expect diversions that have been clearly marked to minimize disruption.
More stringent restrictions will apply over the weekend. Entry and exit points on Al Fursan Street will be fully closed from 12:00 am on Saturday, April 11, until 11:00 pm on Sunday, April 12. During this period, alternative routes will be enforced to manage the flow of vehicles.
Authorities have urged all drivers to plan their journeys in advance and strictly follow the directional signage in the affected areas. These measures are designed to ensure safety while allowing workers to complete their tasks efficiently. Traffic management plans are in place to maintain smooth movement along surrounding roads, including Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street and key routes connecting Khalifa City and Zayed City.
