In line with UAE's year of sustainability and building on the 51st UAE, the organizing committee has introduced the 'Today for Tomorrow: National Day Mangrove Project!'
The objective of the project is fulfilling the agreement made at COP27 to start planting 100 million mangrove trees by the year 2030.

This project comes in hand with Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s vision to restore and improve the mangrove forests along the UAE’s coasts. 10,000 mangrove trees will be planted that were highlighted during the 51st National Day festivities, spreading across various sites in all seven emirates.
Individuals residing in the UAE, including nature lovers, planting enthusiasts, and environmentalists, are welcome to participate in a collaborative initiative that commences on Thursday, May 11, at 10:00 a.m. at Abu Dhabi's Yas Beach. Mangroves play a crucial role in the coastal ecosystem of the UAE, covering an area of more than 150 square kilometers and acting as a vital natural component often referred to as the land's "green lung."
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, announced 2023 as the 'Year of Sustainability, which will extend until December 2023. The objective of this initiative is to advance the enduring principle of sustainability within the country, fostering sustainable practices and inspiring a shift towards a more sustainable and prosperous UAE.
