Air Arabia has launched a new daily direct service between Sharjah and Krabi, expanding the UAE’s aviation links with one of Thailand’s most visited coastal destinations as travel demand between the two countries continues to rise.

The inaugural flight departed Sharjah International Airport on 28 November 2025 and was received in Krabi by Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Phipat Ratchakitprakarn, alongside senior officials from Air Arabia and Krabi Airport. The reception highlighted the strategic weight placed on the new service, which is expected to boost visitor arrivals, strengthen trade flows and support Thailand’s tourism-driven economic recovery.
Adel Al Ali, Group CEO of Air Arabia, described the route as an important step in the airline’s regional expansion. “The daily service will offer travellers greater convenience while supporting the growing flow of tourism and trade between the two countries,” he said.
With Krabi joining Bangkok and Phuket on the Sharjah network, Air Arabia now offers passengers three destinations across Thailand — a reflection of the UAE’s growing outbound leisure market and Thailand’s strong inbound demand. Tourism analysts note that Thailand remains one of the most popular long-haul destinations for UAE travellers, with Krabi’s beaches, limestone cliffs, coral reefs and natural hot springs ranking among its top attractions.
Air Arabia said the new route enhances flexibility for both leisure and business travellers while increasing cargo capacity on a corridor with expanding trade activity. Demand is expected to remain high throughout the winter season, supported by competitive fares, favourable visa policies and Thailand’s continued appeal to families, solo travellers and adventure seekers.
The launch aligns with wider aviation and tourism strategies in both countries. Sharjah continues to strengthen its role as a regional hub focused on low-cost connectivity, while Thailand is expanding outreach to Gulf markets through increased flight capacity and targeted promotional campaigns.
