There are new changes that are being noticed under Antarctica, in which a very large gravity aberration is observed, popularly referred to as a gravity hole, and growing in strength with time. Researchers are monitoring the effect of changing ice mass and mantle dynamics on the area by using satellite data and more sophisticated geophysical models. Recent studies are redefining the polar systems on Earth and providing new insights into how ice loss, crustal movement and long term planetary balance are interrelated.
