The UAE Ministry of Health reported 427 new cases of Covid-19 on Saturday, taking the country's total number of cases to 69,328, while a further 341 patients recovered.

Elsewhere, thousands of coronavirus sceptics are to gather in Berlin on Saturday for a mass protest against pandemic restrictions.

The rally comes as the World Health Organisation issued a warning about a coronavirus resurgence across Europe, with France, Spain and Germany recently recording their highest daily case numbers in months.

The total of global infections passed 24.7 million on Saturday with 837,295 deaths and about 16 million recoveries, according to Johns Hopkins data.
