The changes were applied to citizens of Egypt and six other countries, including the UAE, Jordan, Bangladesh, India, the Philippines, and Indonesia.

The most recent change is a part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs effort to digitize all consular services, including work permits, resident visas, and visit visas.

Through the official ministry webpage, foreign candidates from 49 eligible countries may now apply for the new eVisa.

The eVisa permits multiple entries, a one-year validity period, and authorizes travelers to engage in tourism-related activities for up to 90 days, such as conducting Umrah and attending leisure events or visiting family and friends. The eVisa does not, however, cover other activities like studying or performing the Hajj.
