Dubai just made checking your gold’s purity a whole lot easier. The city launched the world’s first self-service gold testing kiosk, letting anyone test their jewelry in under a minute — no lab visits or waiting weeks for results.
Unveiled by Dubai Municipality at GITEX Global 2025, the kiosk is powered by AI, machine learning, and IoT to deliver fast, accurate purity reports.
Instant Results, No Waiting
Users can test gold and other precious metals, then get results through SMS or printed receipt. The report even breaks down the composition — showing percentages of gold, silver, copper, and zinc.
Compared to the traditional testing process that could take up to seven days, this kiosk gives results in seconds.
Rolling Out Across the City
Dubai plans to place these smart gold kiosks in hotspots like the Gold Souq and major malls, making them accessible to both residents and tourists.
Officials say the move boosts consumer confidence and strengthens Dubai’s reputation as a global gold hub. The initiative follows a partnership between Dubai Municipality and the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group to expand testing services across the emirate.
