Dubai just rolled out its brand-new “City Inspector” initiative — basically a team of certified pros making sure everything around the city stays safe, clean, and up to standard. The Dubai Municipality confirmed that 63 Emirati inspectors have already been certified under the first phase, covering 14 technical fields of inspection.

What the Program Does

Think of it as Dubai’s way of tightening the city’s overall quality check. The initiative aims to unify inspection systems, avoid duplicated work, and boost compliance with existing laws — all while keeping service quality and public satisfaction high.

More Than Just Food Checks

The program doesn’t stop at food and sanitation. Through the City Inspector Professional Diploma, inspectors will be trained and certified across a wide range of areas — including health and safety, construction, waste management, sustainability, and even public facility supervision.

Raising the Bar for City Living

According to Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, the move will make inspections more efficient and reduce unnecessary visits or repeated checks. In short: smoother operations, fewer complaints, and a higher quality of life for everyone in Dubai.
