A rescued Saluki recognised for his impact on guest and team wellbeing
Dubai, UAE, 1st April 2026: Hotel Indigo Dubai Downtown announces the promotion of Sawyer, a rescued Saluki who has been part of the hotel since October 2025, now officially stepping into the role of Wellness Supervisor. More than a symbolic title, this moment marks a meaningful step in the hotel’s ongoing commitment to community support and animal welfare.
Since joining the team, Sawyer has become a quiet but powerful presence within the hotel, contributing to the well-being of both guests and colleagues. His ability to create moments of calm, connection, and comfort reflects a broader understanding of wellbeing, one that goes beyond traditional hospitality.
Sawyer was adopted from Stray Dogs Center, one of the largest Dog Shelter in the UAE, an organisation that Hotel Indigo Dubai Downtown has been actively supporting through a series of community-driven initiatives. The hotel has opened its doors to foster pets awaiting adoption, creating visibility and opportunities for them to find homes. It has also contributed by donating used linens to improve shelter conditions, and by raising funds to support the care of abandoned animals.
By integrating adoption into its own story, the hotel aims to raise awareness around the importance of giving animals a second chance, while encouraging the community to engage in more conscious and compassionate choices.
To celebrate Sawyer’s promotion, the hotel is also launching a dedicated pet friendly stay experience, designed to give back while creating meaningful stays for guests and their companions.
The experience is priced at AED 500, fully redeemable on food and beverages across the hotel’s dining venues. A AED 200 pet supplement is applied, and this amount will be entirely donated to Stray Dogs Center, directly supporting the care of abandoned animals.
