Louvre Abu Dhabi has launched a new Museum Curriculum Portal designed to help teachers across the UAE turn art into a powerful classroom tool.

The platform allows educators in both public and private schools to create more engaging lessons by linking the museum’s collection with everyday subjects.

Turning art into a teaching tool

The initiative, part of efforts by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, aims to better connect art with the national curriculum.

Teachers can now integrate over 148 artworks and artefacts into lessons across:

  • Core subjects like math, science, languages, history, and geography

  • Specialist areas including arts and physical education

Designed for all school levels

The portal supports all three school cycles, from primary to secondary, making it a flexible tool for educators at every level.

It has also been endorsed by the UAE Ministry of Education, ensuring it aligns with national learning goals.

Boosting creativity and critical thinking

Beyond lesson planning, the platform is designed to:

  • Encourage critical thinking

  • Build cultural awareness

  • Inspire more creative teaching methods

By using real artworks, students can better understand abstract concepts and connect them to real-world history and culture.

More than just digital learning

The portal also encourages on-site visits to the museum, helping students form deeper, real-life connections with art and heritage.

An Arabic version of the platform, along with teacher training sessions, is expected to roll out in the second quarter of 2026.

Bottom line

This isn’t just another school tool—it’s a new way of learning, where art becomes part of everyday education in UAE classrooms.
