Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were on the scoresheet as PSG beat Saudi Pro League All-Stars 5-4 in the Riyadh Season Cup on Thursday evening.

Despite the defeat, Ronaldo won Man of the Match award after scoring two first-half goals to cancel out efforts from Messi and Marquinhos to end the half in a 2-2 deadlock.

The French outfit came into the second half with all guns blazing, taking the lead twice with goals from Serigo Ramos, Kylian Mbappe, and Hugo EkiTike. Jang Hyun-Soo and Anderson Talsica scored the other two goals for the Saudi XI that was comprised of players from Riyadh giants Al Hilal and Al Nassr.

The game marks the appearance for Ronaldo on Saudi soil since he completed his mega move, worth a reported 200 million euros, to Al-Nassr earlier in January. The Portuguese legend is yet to play his first official game for his new team.

The match garnered a lot of attention due to the fact that it may possibly be the last time that Ronaldo faces of with newly crowned World Cup winner Messi.

The fact that one of the tickets for this exhibition game was purchased for USD 2.6 million by a Saudi businessman in an auction for charity that took place earlier in the week speaks volumes by itself.
