Authorities in Abu Dhabi have confirmed that one person was killed after a missile struck a civilian vehicle in the Al Bahyah area on Monday morning.

According to the Abu Dhabi Media Office, the victim was a Palestinian national. Emergency services responded immediately after the incident, which occurred amid missile and drone threats targeting the region.

In a statement shared on X, the media office said:

“Abu Dhabi authorities have responded to an incident involving a missile falling on a civilian vehicle in the Al Bahyah area, resulting in one casualty of Palestinian nationality.”

Earlier in the morning, residents across the emirate received missile alert notifications on their mobile phones at around 8:50am, urging the public to take shelter.

The alert came as the UAE Ministry of Defence confirmed that the country’s air defence systems were responding to incoming missile and drone threats from Iran.

Officials have urged residents to remain calm and rely only on verified information from official government channels.

The Abu Dhabi Media Office said:

“The public is advised to obtain information only from official sources and to avoid spreading rumours or unverified information.”

Authorities have not released further details about the circumstances surrounding the missile strike or whether additional damage occurred in the area. Security and emergency teams continue to monitor the situation as regional tensions remain high.

The incident marks a rare fatality from a missile strike in the UAE, underscoring the heightened security concerns in the region as defence systems continue to intercept aerial threats.
