Russell Peters's November 23rd show at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi is going ahead as planned, even though the comedian has chosen to postpone his remaining dates in the Middle East and South Africa.

In a video posted on Instagram, the Canadian comic, adorned with a keffiyeh, addressed the "optics" of presenting his show in the region "while so many are suffering in Gaza." Despite this consideration, he has affirmed that the Etihad Arena performance will continue and is slated to be recorded for an upcoming special, "Act Your Age."

Russell Peters conveyed that despite the circumstances, he will still be in Abu Dhabi on November 23, performing at the Etihad Arena for his new special. Acknowledging the potential perceptions of this decision, he mentioned pulling the rest of his Middle Eastern tour for the time being.

Expressing his internal struggle with the decision, Peters emphasized his belief in the importance of bringing joy to the region, stating, "I feel like the one thing we need in that region is some smiles, love, and laughter, and I hope to be that guy to provide some of that relief for you."

A familiar face in the UAE, Peters, an award-winning comedian, last graced the stage at the Etihad Arena in 2021. Notably, he holds the distinction of being the inaugural performer at Dubai's Coca-Cola Arena, where he presented his Deported World Tour in 2019, showcasing his longstanding association with the country's vibrant entertainment scene.
