Shakira Returns to the Pyramids: Global Superstar Set for Spectacular Egypt Comeback This April
Colombian superstar brings her world tour back to Giza nearly 20 years after her iconic pyramids concert.
Nearly two decades after her unforgettable performance at the pyramids, global music icon Shakira is set to return to Egypt for a one-night-only concert on April 7. The show will take place in Giza, marking her first performance at the historic venue since 2007.
The Colombian singer, who proudly embraces her part-Lebanese heritage, will bring her highly anticipated “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” world tour to the region. Fans can expect a setlist packed with global hits spanning her decades-long career, from early Latin pop classics to her latest chart-toppers.
Shakira’s Middle East tour dates extend beyond Egypt. She is also confirmed to perform in Qatar this April, with Doha set to host the superstar as part of her ongoing world tour on April 1. The Qatar concert further cements her strong fanbase across the region and follows increasing demand for large-scale international performances in the Gulf.
In addition to her Egypt and Qatar stops, Shakira will headline the second edition of the Offlimits Music Festival in Abu Dhabi. She will top the bill at Etihad Park on Yas Island on April 4, leading the full-day, multi-stage event. Last year’s festival was headlined by Ed Sheeran and featured acts including OneRepublic, Kaiser Chiefs, Faithless, ARTBAT, Fun Lovin' Criminals and Zeyne.
Shakira will also take the stage during race weekend at the Formula One Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on April 19. Other performers for the high-profile motorsport event include Kygo and Pitbull.
One of the world’s most influential artists, Shakira has sold over 95 million records worldwide. She is a four-time Grammy Award winner and has earned 15 Latin Grammy Awards, in addition to holding the title of the most-streamed female Latin artist of all time.
Her return to Abu Dhabi will mark her fourth performance in the UAE. She previously performed at Dubai Autodrome in 2007, appeared at Emirates Palace in 2008, and took the stage at du Arena in 2011.
With major performances lined up across Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, April is shaping up to be a landmark month for fans across the Middle East eager to see the global superstar live once again.
