Sharjah Art Foundations Opens Submissions for Vantage Point
Sharjah Art Foundation launches Vantage Point Sharjah 13 with new Photography Gallery and production grants for artists.
Sharjah Art Foundation has announced an open call to photographers worldwide for the 13th edition of its annual photography exhibition, Vantage Point Sharjah (VPS). This highly anticipated event provides artists with an opportunity to showcase their innovative work on one of the region’s premier cultural platforms.
For the first time, VPS will be hosted in the Foundation’s new Photography Gallery, a 450-square-metre exhibition space equipped with advanced facilities and resources. This expansion underscores the Foundation’s commitment to elevating photography as an art form and providing an enhanced experience for both artists and audiences.
In line with these exciting developments, VPS 13 introduces a new production support segment designed to empower artists to create original photographic series. Through this initiative, four artists will be selected via the open call and awarded 40,000 AED each in production funding, along with a separate artist fee, to develop new work.
The selected projects will culminate in an exhibition scheduled for July 2026 and will also feature in a Sharjah Art Foundation publication, offering global visibility to participating photographers.
Vantage Point Sharjah is renowned for its inclusive approach, welcoming artists working across all styles and photographic practices, from traditional to experimental. The Foundation especially encourages submissions that challenge the boundaries of photography and push the medium into new territories.
This latest edition of VPS reflects the Foundation’s ongoing mission to support artists and foster dialogue around contemporary photography. By combining world-class exhibition spaces with significant production funding, Sharjah Art Foundation continues to position itself as a leading platform for international photographic talent.
