Trinity College Dublin to Divest from Israeli Companies

Trinity College Dublin has announced that it will divest from Israeli companies involved in the occupation of Palestine after a sit-in by students protesting the war in Gaza.
Ireland's most prestigious university made this decision after its officials held talks with the student protestors, ending the encampment and blockade of the Book of Kells on campus.
The encampment and blockade on campus will end today following successful talks between university senior management and protestors. This decision is an important feat in the global university movement, which has seen various students protesting in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
The Trinity College Dublin's statement reads, "Trinity will complete divestment from investments in Israeli companies that have activities in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and appear on the UN Blacklist in this regard. This process is expected to be completed by June."
The statement further reads, "On review, Trinity can confirm that its supplier list currently contains just one Israeli company which will remain until March 2025 for contractual reasons. "
Trinity will also support the education of eight students from Gaza including six postgraduates and two undergraduates. These students will also be provided accommodation waivers.
