UAE Airspace Reopens After Temporary Closure
Authorities confirm safe resumption of operations following security assessment after missile and drone threats
The United Arab Emirates has officially reopened its airspace early Tuesday after a temporary and partial closure prompted by escalating regional security concerns.
According to the General Civil Aviation Authority, the decision to resume operations followed a comprehensive evaluation of both operational readiness and safety conditions. The reopening was carried out in coordination with relevant national authorities, as reported by Emirates News Agency.
The temporary closure had been implemented as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of air traffic amid ongoing missile and drone activity linked to Iran.
Earlier on Tuesday, the UAE’s Defence Ministry confirmed that it had actively responded to incoming aerial threats, including missiles and drones, underscoring the seriousness of the situation.
The developments come a day after a fuel tanker near Dubai International Airport was struck by a drone. The incident led aviation authorities to briefly suspend flight operations as a safety precaution.
With airspace now reopened, normal flight operations are expected to gradually resume, although authorities continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure ongoing safety and stability.
