UAE citizens will now enjoy visa-free entry to Trinidad and Tobago following the signing of a mutual visa waiver agreement between the two nations.

The deal was formalized on Saturday by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Sean Sobers, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Caribbean Affairs for Trinidad and Tobago.

Under the agreement, UAE citizens holding diplomatic, special, ordinary, and “mission” passports are exempt from entry visa requirements to Trinidad and Tobago. Likewise, Trinidad and Tobago citizens with diplomatic and official passports are exempt from visa requirements when entering the UAE.

The signing took place on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, where Sheikh Abdullah also met with Kamla Persad-Bissessar, Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, in the presence of Sobers.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, and the economy, while also discussing issues on the UN General Assembly agenda.

Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to strengthening ties, stating the country is keen to consolidate growing and advanced bilateral relations with the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
