Defence Ministry details cumulative missile and drone figures since start of Iranian aggression.

The UAE Ministry of Defence announced on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, that the country’s air defence systems successfully intercepted three ballistic missiles and 121 drones amid ongoing regional tensions.

According to the ministry, a total of 129 drones were detected during the day. While 121 were intercepted, eight crashed within the country. Authorities said air defence units responded swiftly to neutralise the aerial threats.

Since what officials described as “blatant” Iranian aggression began, 189 ballistic missiles have been launched toward the UAE. Of these, 175 were destroyed, 13 fell into the sea, and one landed on UAE territory.

The ministry further reported that 941 Iranian drones have been detected since the start of hostilities. Of that number, 876 were intercepted, while 65 landed within UAE territory. Eight cruise missiles were also detected and destroyed, though some collateral damage was reported.

The attacks have resulted in three fatalities — Pakistani, Nepalese, and Bangladeshi nationals — and 78 minor injuries, the statement added. Authorities emphasised that defence systems remain on high alert and continue to operate at full readiness to safeguard the country’s airspace and population.
