UAE-Kuwait Week to Celebrate Friendship Between the Two Nations
“UAE & Kuwait: Brothers Forever” will light up all seven emirates with culture, dialogue and unity.
The United Arab Emirates is set to host a nationwide week-long celebration to honour its historic ties with Kuwait, unveiling more than 40 cultural, social, economic and entertainment events under the banner “UAE & Kuwait: Brothers Forever” from January 29 to February 4, 2026.
The programme, launched at the direction of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, aims to showcase deep-rooted fraternity, cooperation and shared heritage between the two nations.
Across all seven emirates, iconic UAE landmarks will be illuminated in the colours of the Kuwaiti flag, and spectacular fireworks and drone shows will take place throughout the week, symbolising unity and celebration. A marine parade will add a maritime flourish to the festivities, reflecting the shared seafaring heritage of the Gulf.
Cultural and Entertainment Highlights
The cultural programme will include concerts and art performances by Emirati and Kuwaiti artists, screenings of classic Kuwaiti films, and workshops inspired by Kuwaiti heritage. Families and visitors can enjoy folk music, theatrical productions, and interactive artistic displays at major venues and public spaces. In Dubai, “Kuwait’s Timeless Nights” concerts on January 30 at Burj Park will feature performances by artists including Hussain Al Jassmi, Mutref Al Mutref, Balqees and Khaled Al Mudhafar.
At Jumeirah Kite Beach, the “Kuwait at Home” cultural experience will blend live music, cuisine and entertainment throughout the week, with thrilling aerial displays by the Fursan Al Emarat aerobatic team on February 1 and 2. A dedicated Emirati-Kuwaiti youth gathering will take place on February 3, followed by a concert by celebrated Kuwaiti artist Ibrahim Dashti on February 4.
Forums, Dialogue and Strategic Events
The celebration kicks off with the UAE-Kuwait Media Forum on January 29, spotlighting historic milestones in bilateral relations and honouring leaders and cultural figures who helped forge the enduring bond. A UAE-Kuwait Economic Forum on February 2 will focus on strengthening trade and investment ties, exploring opportunities across sectors and deepening economic cooperation, building on strong existing links in business, tourism and investment.
Community Engagement and Special Activities
Kuwaiti visitors arriving in the UAE during the week will receive special welcomes and commemorative souvenirs at airports, and be granted free entry to the Sheikh Zayed Festival. Events targeting families and youth, including cultural activities in shopping malls, tourism hubs and community centres, reflect a broad effort to connect people-to-people and celebrate shared traditions.
Cultural Exhibitions Across Emirates
In the Northern Emirates, the Kuwait in Fujairah Festival at Fujairah Fort on January 31 will feature arts and cultural presentations, while Ras Al Khaimah will host a major concert on February 4 alongside its own Kuwaiti Food Festival at Al Marjan Island from January 29 to 31. The House of Arts at Expo City Dubai will hold a cultural showcase on February 3, with a performance by the Firdaus Orchestra, artist talks and heritage tours.
Kuwait was among the earliest supporters of the UAE, establishing diplomatic relations soon after the UAE’s founding in 1971, and the weeklong celebration honours this enduring friendship while looking to future cooperation across cultural, economic and social spheres.
