The Khalifa, UAE’s biggest aid vessel, arrives in Egypt with field hospital and vital supplies for Palestinians under Operation Gallant Knight 3.

The UAE’s largest humanitarian vessel, the Khalifa, has docked at Egypt’s Al Arish Port, carrying a fully equipped field hospital and 7,166 tonnes of essential goods for Gaza.

This mission is part of "Operation Gallant Knight 3," the UAE’s ongoing relief effort launched after the escalation of conflict in October 2023.

Launched from Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi on July 21, the ship loaded 4,372 tonnes of food, 1,433 tonnes of shelter supplies, 860 tonnes of medical materials, and 501 tonnes of health items.

The field hospital on board is equipped to treat up to 400 patients and includes 16 ambulances, underscoring the UAE’s commitment to immediate medical support for civilians in Gaza.

Upon arrival, the vessel was welcomed by representatives from humanitarian and charitable organizations, Ahmed Sari Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of the Emirates Red Crescent, and Egyptian officials. Supplies will be transferred to UAE-operated warehouses in Al Arish before onward transport into Gaza by truck.

This latest shipment raises the UAE’s total delivered aid to over 80,000 tonnes, and represents the eighth vessel sent under the humanitarian campaign. The initiative includes food, medical care, shelter resources, and clean water access via water tankers and desalination efforts in collaboration with authorities in Egypt.

The UAE has committed more than $1.5 billion in financial aid to Gaza since the conflict began, affirming its role as a leading international humanitarian donor. This operation further demonstrates the country's strategic partnership with Egypt and steadfast dedication to easing the suffering of Palestinians amid worsening conditions in the Gaza Strip.

In summary, the arrival of the Khalifa aid ship—equipped with a field hospital and thousands of tonnes of aid—marks a significant escalation in the UAE's relief response, reinforcing its long-term humanitarian support for Gaza under Operation Gallant Knight 3.
