Embassy in Abu Dhabi and Consulate in Dubai close services until further notice.

The US Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the US Consulate General in Dubai have temporarily suspended all operations, the embassy announced on Wednesday, March 4.

In an official statement, the US Embassy confirmed that both diplomatic missions in the United Arab Emirates are closed and will not be providing consular or routine services until further notice. The suspension affects visa issuance, passport services and all in-person assistance normally offered at the facilities.

The announcement did not specify a timeline for when services might resume, underscoring that the closures will remain in effect “until further notice.” US citizens and visa applicants in the UAE have been advised to monitor official embassy communication channels for updates and alternative service arrangements.

Officials reiterated that the closure is temporary and emphasised that the embassy and consulate remain committed to assisting US citizens abroad as conditions evolve.

Further details about the reasons behind the suspension and contingency plans for affected visitors and residents were not immediately disclosed.
