Some fans were arrested after violence erupted following the Al Wasl vs. Shabab Al Ahli match, prompting a police crackdown on unruly behavior.

Dubai Police Arrest Football Fans After Shabab Ahli Match

The Dubai Police arrested certain individuals on Wednesday, May 7, who were involved in the riots after the UAE Pro League match between Al Wasl and Shabab Al Ahli. 

The match took place on Saturday, May 3, and after the riot, the police immediately launched an investigation to find the individuals responsible for the public disturbances.

The match took place at Zabeel Stadium, where Al Wasl won with a score of 2-1.

According to the police, legal action was taken against the arrested individual,s and they were referred to the relevant authorities for further proceedings. 

UAE Football Association's Disciplinary Committee has also issued heavy fines against the football clubs.

Shabab Al Ahli Club was fined AED 70,000 for fans verbally abusing rival fans and throwing water bottles at the pitch, while Al Wasl was fined AED 80,000 for igniting a smoke flare, shouting offensive chants for the rival team, and throwing objects on the field.
