A fire that broke out after an Iranian drone struck a residential tower in Dubai was quickly brought under control early on Thursday, March 12, with authorities confirming that no injuries were reported.
According to officials, the drone slammed into a hotel residence building at Dubai Creek Harbour overnight, igniting a blaze that affected a small section of the property. The Dubai Government Media Office said the incident involved “a drone that fell on a building in the vicinity of Dubai Creek Harbour,” with emergency teams responding swiftly to contain the fire.
The blaze was limited to one or two apartments in Address Creek Harbour 2, preventing further damage to the tower. Emergency services managed to extinguish the flames shortly after the incident and secured the surrounding area.
Authorities also confirmed that all residents were safely evacuated from the building as a precaution. The Dubai Government Media Office stated that everyone in the tower was accounted for and that there were no reported injuries.
Images circulating on social media showed flames rising from part of the building while debris fell onto the street below. Residents from nearby towers said many people sheltered in basement parking areas until authorities declared the situation under control.
Officials issued updates throughout the early hours of the morning, confirming that the fire had been contained and emergency crews were assessing the site.
The incident comes amid ongoing regional tensions and drone activity across the Gulf, with several countries reporting attempted strikes and aerial interceptions in recent days. Authorities in the UAE have urged residents to remain calm and rely on official updates for accurate information as security agencies continue monitoring the situation.
