UAE President Hosts UAE Rulers and Citizens at Eid Al Adha Reception

President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Wednesday hosted a high-profile Eid Al Adha reception at Mushrif Palace in Abu Dhabi, bringing together UAE rulers, crown princes, officials, and citizens to celebrate the sacred festival.

The gathering, held after the leaders attended Eid prayers at mosques across the country, underscored the unity and strength of the Emirates. Sheikh Mohamed exchanged warm greetings and best wishes with fellow leaders and citizens, praying for the continued progress, prosperity, and stability of the nation.

A Gathering of Leaders

The reception was attended by:

  • Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai;
  • Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah;
  • Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Ruler of Ajman;
  • Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Ruler of Fujairah;
  • Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Ruler of Umm Al Quwain;
  • Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah;
  • Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court;
  • Crown Princes and senior officials from all seven emirates.

Eid Prayers and Reflections

President Sheikh Mohamed led Eid Al Adha prayers at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, where he was joined by senior officials, sheikhs, and worshippers. In his sermon, Dr Omar Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, emphasized the role of honesty as the foundation of societal trust and progress.

“Honesty is the strength through which societies prosper and civilizations are built,” Dr Al Darei said, praising the UAE leadership for its sincerity, unity, and resolve in safeguarding the nation’s interests.

Tributes to the Founding Father

The leaders also paid tribute to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Founding Father, by reciting Al Fatiha at his tomb. The gesture highlighted the enduring legacy of Sheikh Zayed’s vision in shaping the modern UAE.

Across the emirates, leaders including Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum (Crown Prince of Dubai), Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi (Ruler of Sharjah), and others participated in Eid prayers, reinforcing the spirit of unity and gratitude that defines the occasion.
