The Department of Government Support in has approved reducing attendance for Abu Dhabi government employees effective Sunday.

70% of employees will work remotely, while workplaces will operate with just 30 per cent attendance.

The new rules apply to semi-government run companies and authorities.

Employees with underlying health conditions, including weak immunity, those older than 60 and people with disabilities will also work remotely.

The government media office has also said that any role that could be fully delivered from outside the office fully should be done remotely.

A compulsory PCR test for all government employees is required every week. People who were fully vaccinated and have the gold star or letter E on the Al Hosn tracing app are exempt.

The follows a federal government move to ensure any who declines the vaccine is regularly tested.

In addition, malls in the UAE’s capital will operate on a 40% maximum capacity, whereas gyms will operate on 50% and restaurants and coffee shops not more than 60% capacity.
