Banks, Malls, and Ports Operating Normally in the UAE
Key businesses including Emaar, CBD, du and Gulf Navigation holding firm as enhanced security measures remain in place.
Major businesses and vital economic hubs across the United Arab Emirates were operating normally on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, as authorities worked to reassure the public and markets despite ongoing regional conflict involving Iran and the US-Israel military campaign.
Continued operations reflect a focus on maintaining economic resilience amid heightened geopolitical tensions.
Leading companies reported regular activity at their venues and facilities. Emaar Properties, one of the UAE’s biggest developers, said its offices and customer-facing services were open with normal business on March 4, following the reopening of financial markets earlier in the day.
Financial services firm The Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD) confirmed that its branches across the Emirates were open and serving clients without interruption, as customers continued routine banking transactions. Similarly, Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company PJSC (du) maintained full telecom network operations, assuring subscribers of continued connectivity during the ongoing conflict and business uncertainty.
In the maritime sector, all four terminals at DP World’s Jebel Ali Port in Dubai were confirmed fully operational, after a brief precautionary halt earlier in the week. The port, the largest container hub in the Middle East, continued handling cargo and logistics activities on March 4 under close monitoring by authorities.
Maritime and logistics firm Gulf Navigation Holding also indicated that its business units were functioning normally, supporting vessel scheduling and maritime services without disruptions.
Officials across government and economic sectors have underscored that while enhanced security and safety measures are in effect, public services, critical infrastructure and major economic venues remain open to support residents and businesses. This comes as the UAE has repeatedly reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding national stability while protecting everyday life and commerce.
