Pakistan Embassy in the UAE Suspends In-Person Services

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has temporarily suspended all in-person consular services at its mission in the United Arab Emirates, the embassy announced on Wednesday. The measure is effective immediately and will remain in place until further notice, according to an official statement.

In its announcement, the embassy said the suspension follows advisories issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, which recommended remote working arrangements for the private sector and urged workers to avoid open areas amid ongoing regional developments. The embassy described the step as a precautionary move aimed at safeguarding both community members and its own staff.

All routine, face-to-face services — including passport renewals, document attestations and other consular interactions — will be handled remotely or through online channels for the interim period. Updates on the resumption of regular services will be shared through the mission’s official communication platforms.

The suspension comes as several diplomatic missions in the UAE and the wider region adjust operations in response to evolving security concerns and heightened tensions. Pakistani nationals residing in the UAE have also been advised to stay informed through official channels and comply with directives from local authorities.
