Dubai police urged residents to act responsibly on social media after posting a video on Twitter.
The tweet stated that some posts could become a criminal case, with penalties ranging from fines to imprisonment.

Fines could get up to Dh250,000 and Dh1 million and could be punishable with imprisonment. Here’s everything you have to avoid on social media.
- Offending any Islamic sanctities or rituals.
- Offending any of the sanctities or rituals prescribed in other religions.
- Insulting any of the recognized monotheistic religions.
- Encouraging, inciting, or promoting sins.

Additionally, an individual can be jailed for seven years if the post is against God, His prophets, messengers or against Islam.
