The General Authority for Islamic Affairs Endowments and Zakat announced that Eid Al Fitr prayers will be held inside mosques only across the UAE this year.
No Open-Air Prayer Grounds
Authorities confirmed that Eid prayer grounds and open areas will not be used, with prayers strictly limited to mosques.
The move comes as part of ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of worshippers.
Coordinated Nationwide Decision
The decision was made in coordination with relevant authorities, including the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department Dubai and the Sharjah Islamic Affairs Department.
Worshippers are being urged to follow official guidelines and perform prayers only in designated mosque spaces.
Eid Date Depends on Moon Sighting
The UAE’s Moon-Sighting Committee will observe the Shawwal crescent on March 18.

If sighted: Eid begins Thursday, March 19

If not: Ramadan completes 30 days, and Eid falls on Friday, March 20
Astronomical forecasts suggest Ramadan will likely complete the full 30 days this year.
