That’s right... Despite the rising heat and fogged-up glasses, summer in the UAE hasn’t even officially started yet.
While walking to the Dubai Metro feels like a workout and humidity levels are already sky-high, the official start of summer in the UAE is still a few weeks away. According to astronomical calculations, summer kicks off on Saturday, June 21, 2025.

So why that date? June 21 marks the summer solstice, the longest day of the year in terms of daylight and the shortest night. It’s when the Northern Hemisphere is tilted most directly toward the sun, making the sun appear at its highest point in the sky at noon. That’s what gives us those long, hot, sun-drenched days.
UAE’s summer isn’t for the faint-hearted. Once it gets going, expect daytime temperatures to regularly soar above 40°C, with some areas in the UAE even hitting a scorching 50°C last year.

But don’t worrym the blazing season doesn’t last forever. Based on current astronomical predictions, UAE’s summer will officially end on Monday, September 22, which is the date of the Autumnal Equinox.
Until then, stay cool, stay hydrated, and maybe save those outdoor brunches for the cooler months.
