Hamas said Thursday that an Israeli strike in Doha targeting its leaders won’t shake up its position on ending the Gaza war. The group’s demands remain the same: a full ceasefire, Israeli withdrawal, a prisoner-for-hostage exchange, humanitarian aid, and rebuilding Gaza.
Strike Hits Negotiating Delegation
According to Hamas official Fawzi Barhoum, the strike hit its negotiators while they were reviewing a new ceasefire plan presented by Qatar’s prime minister. Hamas called the attack an attempt to derail the talks and accused both Israel and the US of sabotaging the mediation process led by Qatar and Egypt.
Regional Reaction
The strike killed five Hamas members, including the son of senior negotiator Khalil Al-Hayya. The attack sparked condemnation from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and the European Union, raising fresh concerns that the already fragile truce talks could collapse.
