H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Asks Public to Honor UAE on Day of Resolve

Crown Prince calls on the nation to honour unity and resilience on January 17’s Day of Resolve with anthem broadcast and commemorative activities.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, has invited residents across the United Arab Emirates to join in observing the Day of Resolve this Saturday, a national moment of reflection and solidarity.

In a message shared on social media, Sheikh Hamdan emphasised the importance of using the anniversary, observed annually on January 17, to reflect on the “resolve, unity and solidarity” demonstrated by the people of the UAE as they stand behind their flag, safeguard national achievements and uphold the country’s global standing.

As part of the Day of Resolve activities, national media channels will broadcast the UAE national anthem at 11:00 am on Saturday, inviting citizens and residents alike to tune in as a symbolic renewal of loyalty and collective determination to continue advancing the nation.

As part of the Day of Resolve commemorations on January 17, the UAE Armed Forces, alongside the elite aerobatic team Fursan Al Emarat, will conduct a nationwide aerial procession featuring helicopters and fighter jets flying over all seven emirates, from Abu Dhabi to Fujairah. The display is designed as a powerful symbol of national unity, discipline and strength, reinforcing the country’s resilience and collective resolve in the face of past challenges.

The occasion marks the fourth anniversary of the deadly attack on Abu Dhabi in January 2022 by Iran-aligned Houthi rebels, an event that claimed civilian lives and challenged the UAE’s sense of security. The Day of Resolve has since become a date to honour national resilience and communal strength.

Sheikh Hamdan’s call to action underscores the enduring values of unity and patriotism that define the UAE’s spirit. In previous years, commemorations have included ceremonies, prayers and public messages from the country’s leadership, all reinforcing a shared commitment to the nation’s progress and stability.
