A 50,000-year-old comet named C/2022 E3 (ZTF) will light up the UAE sky in February. Since the last ice age, this is the closest the comet will be to the sun before it passes by the earth in February and it may be the last time the comet passes by earth according to experts.
Dubai Astronomy Group will host an observation night at Al Qudra Desert on Saturday, February 4, 2023. from 6.30 pm to 9.30 pm.
The astronomy group will also observe other celestial bodies during the night including Jupiter, Mars, the Moon, and other deep-sky objects.
General tickets cost Dhs120 for adults and Dhs100 for children under 13. For an additional Dhs50 per person, the astronomy group will arrange pick-up from the Centerpoint Metro Station (Rashidiya Park parking) at 4.45 pm. Drop-off will be at the same venue post the event by 10.50 pm.
