It's official! Red Bull welcomed Yuki Tsunoda as the second driver for its F1 team on Thursday, Mar. 27.
On their Instagram page, the team announced that Tsunoda will join the four-time world champion Max Verstappen for the 2025 Japanese Grand Prix, which is scheduled for Sunday, Apr. 6.
He will be replacing Liam Lawson, whose performances in the first two Grand Prix and the first sprint race of the season were poor.
He qualified 18th for the Australian GP and crashed during the race, while he qualified last for the sprint race and Grand Prix in China. He finished last in the sprint race and he was promoted to 12th in the Grand Prix after the three disqualifications.
Lawson will return to Racing Bulls and race alongside rookie Isack Hadjar for the Japanese Grand Prix.
