Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Yesterday marked the official launch of the Syrian–Emirati Council for Businesswomen, held under the patronage of Sheikh Rashid bin Nasser Al Nuaimi. The event gathered a distinguished group of Emirati, Syrian, and Arab businesswomen, alongside Syrian actor Mohammad Khair Al Jarrah, and a select audience of guests and media representatives at the headquarters of the Dubai Women’s Association.
In her opening remarks, Ms. Mai Al Ghajari, President of the Syrian–Emirati Council for Businesswomen, said:
“The idea of the council was born out of a desire to bring together businesswomen from the UAE and Syria, with a strong focus on enhancing joint economic roles and empowering Syrian businesswomen to develop their skills across various business and economic sectors.”
She added:
“Our vision is to organize events, activities, and conferences. We are already planning conferences in Syria and Egypt, building on the pioneering achievements of Emirati businesswomen. Membership is open to Syrian women entrepreneurs to join and exchange expertise, with the aim of reaching 100 members within the first year.”
Al Ghajari further noted that the council’s role extends beyond economic matters, aspiring to serve as a platform for regional and international networking that highlights a positive image of Syrian and Emirati women in entrepreneurship. She emphasized that the council will work to attract joint partnerships and investments, while creating new job opportunities that contribute to sustainable development in the region.
