The Philippines is officially on the global foodie map. The Michelin Guide has named the country one of the “most exciting foodie destinations” for 2026, joining 15 other nations celebrated for their culinary scenes.
According to the guide, 2026 is the perfect time to explore Filipino food, especially in Manila and Cebu, where the local cuisine is gaining international attention.
Young Chefs, Bold Flavors
Michelin highlighted the new wave of young Filipino chefs redefining the country’s cuisine. These culinary innovators are blending traditional flavors with international techniques, giving classic dishes a modern twist.
Some of the must-try dishes mentioned include:

Michelin’s Philippine Debut
The Michelin Guide officially launched in the Philippines in October 2025, unveiling its first local recommendations. For the 2026 edition, it recognized 108 establishments across the country:
