With a century against Afghanistan on Wednesday, India's captain Rohit Sharma broke the records held by legends like Sachin Tendulkar and Kapil Dev.

Rohit achieved two more outstanding milestones. After passing Tendulkar, Kohli, and Ganguly to become just the fourth Indian to reach the milestone, he then hit three sixes to surpass Chris Gayle of "Universe Boss" to become the leading six-hitter in international cricket.

When he hit fast bowler Naveen-ul-Haq for his third time over the fence while the team was attempting to reach a 273-run target, the India captain accomplished the feat in all three game formats.

With a bold hundred against Afghanistan, Rohit Sharma surpasses all other cricketers in World Cup history as a batter. He now holds the record for the most ICC World Cup 100s with 7 hundreds. Former Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara is in third place with 5 hundred, behind legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, who has six centuries to his credit. In the ICC World Cup, former Australian captain Ricky Ponting is in fourth place with five centuries, and Australian starting pitcher David Warner is in fifth place with four.

In addition, Rohit Sharma broke Kapil Dev's record of 72 balls for a World Cup century, becoming the first Indian to score a century in the tournament's history with just 63 balls. The entire Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi rose to their feet in awe of Rohit Sharma's remarkable feat.
