Ever since it was discovered, Mercury has seemed to be a planet with no life, but recent finds are now stoking an unexpected controversy about the planet. Now, though, strange behavior on its surface, unusual magnetic signals, and unexpected geologic characteristics are posed new questions for researchers learning more about the smallest planet in our solar system. The results are promising other researchers to study Mercury, too, and rethink what could be going on under its burned-out heavily cratered surface.
