Sharjah Police Makes Arrests After Man Stabbed to Death

Sharjah Police have apprehended several individuals in connection with a deadly brawl that left an Indian national dead and another person critically injured outside a shopping centre in the Al Nahda area.

On Thursday, police confirmed they received a report of a fight involving multiple people outside the shopping centre on May 31. According to authorities, two individuals sustained stab wounds from a sharp object during the altercation. Emergency services were called immediately, and both injured parties were transported by National Ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. Tragically, one of the victims later succumbed to his wounds.

Investigation and Arrests

Sharjah Police launched an immediate investigation into the incident. Preliminary findings revealed that the dispute originated on a social media platform before escalating from an online disagreement into a direct physical confrontation involving several parties.

"The officers identified and arrested all involved within four hours of the incident being reported," said a police spokesperson. While the force confirmed that "several Asian nationals" were taken into custody, officials did not specify the exact number of suspects detained. Legal action has been initiated against those arrested.

Social Media Warning

The case has prompted Sharjah Police to issue a public warning regarding disputes originating on social media. The force urged residents to handle online disagreements through proper legal channels rather than engaging in aggressive behaviour or face-to-face confrontation.

"Disputes arising on social media should be handled through legal channels," the police statement read. "We warn against engaging in aggressive behaviour or confrontation."

Sharjah Police stressed that the law will be firmly enforced against anyone who threatens public security or endangers the safety of others. The force also encouraged community members to act responsibly when using online platforms and to report any content promoting violence or disturbances to public order by calling the non-emergency number 901.
