If you're cruising through Dubai this week, here’s a heads-up: starting Sunday, July 13, a new traffic diversion will be in place at the intersection of King Salman Street and the road leading to Dubai Harbour, as major bridge construction works begin.
According to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the detours are necessary to facilitate the construction of the new bridge that will connect directly to Dubai Harbour. The traffic changes will remain in effect until the project is completed, although no end date has been announced just yet.

If you’re driving from the Dubai Marina area toward Jumeirah or Dubai Harbour, expect closures on some main roads and left-turn lanes along King Salman Street.
Instead, motorists will be rerouted through the following alternate path:
-
Al Marsa Street
-
Al Khayay Street
-
Al Naseem Street
-
Then back onto King Salman Street
The RTA is urging all drivers to plan their routes in advance, leave early to avoid potential delays, and of course, follow all posted signs and traffic instructions.
With peak summer heat and roadworks colliding, your best move might be checking Google Maps before hitting the road—or just carpool with that friend who knows all the back routes.
#RTA informs you of a temporary traffic diversion at the intersection of King Salman Street and the road leading to Dubai Harbour, coinciding with the beginning of bridge construction works to Dubai Harbour. The diversion will begin on Sunday, 13 July 2025, and will remain in…
