If you’re heading out of Dubai or Sharjah airports, there’s a long list of stuff that can’t come with you in your hand baggage — and a few things that come with strings attached.
What’s Off-Limits in Dubai
Dubai Airports says no to:

Hammers, nails, drills, or sharp tools

Scissors or grooming kit parts over 6cm

Swords, bats, martial arts weapons

Handcuffs, firearms, ammo, laser guns

Walkie-talkies, ropes, measuring tapes

Lighters (only one allowed on you)

Electrical cables (except personal use)
Restricted but Allowed in Dubai

Liquids: Max 100ml per container, 10 containers total

Medicines: Bring a doctor’s prescription

Power banks: Max 100Wh; 100–160Wh may be okay depending on airline, but never over 160Wh — and you can’t use them in flight
What’s Banned in Sharjah
Sharjah Airport’s list includes:

Baseball bats, billy clubs

Flammable gas, liquids, solids, and corrosives

Knives over 6cm, swords, hunting knives

Chemical/biological agents and radioactive materials

Firearms, explosives, fireworks

Dangerous tools like ice picks, dummy weapons, straight razors

Tear gas, stun guns, organic peroxide
Restricted in Sharjah

Liquids: Up to 100ml, in a clear resealable 20x20cm bag

Baby food or medicines: May require proof like a prescription
