Nurseries in government and commercial buildings lead the phased reopening as authorities conduct safety inspections and staff training.

The Education, Human Resources and Community Development Council has confirmed that educational institutions across the United Arab Emirates are preparing for a gradual return to in-person learning. The initiative includes robust safety measures designed to protect both students and staff as the country transitions back to physical classrooms.

The reopening process will commence this week with a phased approach focused on nurseries. Initially, nurseries located within government premises and commercial buildings will resume operations. Meanwhile, other nursery providers will be permitted to continue offering home-based childcare services, strictly adhering to approved regulations to ensure continuity of care.

To facilitate a safe return, authorities have launched extensive programs aimed at preparing educational facilities and training staff across all levels, from nurseries to universities. These initiatives align with decisions made by relevant federal and local bodies to prioritize health and safety.

Government and local education authorities are currently conducting rigorous inspections of educational sites to verify full readiness. Simultaneously, clear guidelines are being finalized to support flexible transitions between in-person and remote learning models, ensuring that the system can adapt quickly to any emerging needs.

While the nursery phase begins immediately, the timeline for the broader resumption of in-person or remote learning for schools and higher education institutions is yet to be fully detailed. The Council announced that further updates regarding these sectors will be released on Wednesday through the official channels of the Ministry of Education and other relevant authorities.

This structured approach reflects the UAE's commitment to balancing educational continuity with the highest standards of public health safety, ensuring a smooth and secure transition for the nation's students and educators.
