UAE Confirms 4-Day Eid Al Adha Break for Public Sector

Public sector employees in the UAE will get a long weekend from June 5 to 8 for Eid Al Adha, with regular work resuming on June 9.

Long weekend alert! UAE government employees will enjoy a four-day weekend for Eid Al Adha this year, confirmed by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources.
The official break will start on Thursday, June 5, and continue through Sunday, June 8. Work will resume on Monday, June 9.
Eid Dates Confirmed After Moon Sighting
The exact dates were set after the Dhul Hijjah moon was spotted in the UAE on Tuesday evening, May 28. This confirmed May 28 as the first day of Dhul Hijjah in the Islamic calendar.
With that, Day of Arafah falls on Wednesday, June 5, and Eid Al Adha will begin on Thursday, June 6.
Who Gets the Holiday?
The announcement specifically applies to federal and public sector employees across the UAE. The private sector is expected to receive a similar update soon, depending on the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.
