No more weekend holiday blues. Thanks to a new UAE law, if public holidays like New Year’s Day, National Day, Islamic New Year, or the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) Birthday fall on a Friday or Saturday, you’ll still score a day off during the week.
What Stays the Same
The big ones, Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha, remain fixed. So, if they land on a weekend, they stay put. Also, if a holiday overlaps another or touches a weekend, it won’t get shifted.
Why It Matters
-
Better balance: Your rest days stay protected.
-
Smarter travel: Long weekends and mini getaways become way easier.
-
Plan ahead: Not every company applies transfers automatically, so always double-check with HR.
