Dubai Inmates to Receive Virtual Calls for Families Abroad

Dubai Police have introduced remote visiting hours during Eid Al Adha, allowing inmates and their families to communicate through video conferences. This initiative aims to bridge distances, ensuring that loved ones can stay connected, regardless of where they are.

Families of both male and female inmates, whether residing in the UAE or abroad, can participate in the virtual visits on the first three days of Eid. The service will be available in two time slots: 8 AM to 12 PM and 2 PM to 4 PM, providing flexibility for participants across different time zones.

The initiative builds on the success of the virtual visiting service, which was launched earlier and has since enabled seamless communication between inmates and their families. Dubai Police, in partnership with the General Department of Artificial Intelligence, will provide full logistical support, ensuring smooth and secure interactions through electronic devices.

To schedule a virtual visit, families can apply via the Dubai Police smart app. Once approved, they will receive a text message containing a link and scheduled time for the call. Inmates will then join the video call through the Dubai Police website using the provided devices.

This thoughtful initiative reflects Dubai’s commitment to maintaining family bonds and supporting the well-being of inmates during significant occasions like Eid.
