Dubai Freezes Private School Fees for 2026-27 Academic Year

Dubai's Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has announced that private school fees in the emirate will remain unchanged for the 2026-27 academic year.

This decision follows the approval of the second package of economic incentives in Dubai by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence.

Understanding the Economic Incentives

The latest economic package announced by Sheikh Hamdan comes shortly after a previous initiative launched two months ago. It aims to support vital sectors, including tourism, trade, education, and customs services.

With a value of Dh1.5 billion, this package brings the total amount of economic incentives in Dubai to Dh2.5 billion. The new measures include 33 initiatives to be implemented within three to 12 months.

Experts believe these incentive packages will strengthen the economy while also protecting jobs across various sectors.

Positive Impact on the Education Sector

The measures introduced will greatly benefit private educational institutions registered under KHDA. They include options for fee deferrals, installment payments for license renewal, and deferral of fines.

Early childhood centers permitted by KHDA are set to benefit significantly as well, with exemptions from license renewal fees, fines, and market fees imposed by Dubai Municipality.

Additional support for early childhood centers includes partial rent exemptions, extended rent-free periods for centers under construction, and broader relief measures for other affiliated institutions.

Educational establishments will enjoy further assistance such as partial or full waivers of guarantee insurance for canceled contracts, the temporary suspension of contract penalty clauses, freeze on rent hikes during renewals, and deferred rental payments.

These initiatives showcase Dubai's commitment to supporting educational institutions and ensuring stability for students, parents, and school owners alike.
