Here are the Eid Al Adha 2026 Prayer Timings for the UAE

As residents across the UAE prepare to celebrate Eid Al Adha 2026, the country is witnessing a stronger sense of hope amid reports of progress toward a potential US-Iran deal aimed at ending hostilities and reopening the Strait of Hormuz. While regional tensions have cast a shadow over the past weeks, the upcoming Eid brings a renewed spirit of unity and celebration.

Against this backdrop, mosques across the UAE are set to welcome worshippers in the early hours of Wednesday, May 27, for the Eid Al Adha congregational prayers, one of the most significant festivals in the Islamic calendar.

Sunnahs and Etiquette of Eid Prayer

Before heading to the mosque, Muslims are encouraged to observe the following Sunnahs (recommended practices):

  • Perform ghusl (ritual bathing).
  • Wear clean and presentable clothing, preferably new or the best available.
  • Apply perfume.
  • Walk to the mosque or prayer ground if possible.
  • Take one route to the prayer and return by a different route.

The Eid prayer consists of two rak‘ahs (units) with additional takbeers (saying “Allahu Akbar”). After the prayers, families and friends gather to exchange greetings and celebrate the joyous occasion.

The Tradition of Udhiya (Qurbani)

Following the Eid prayers, the sacrifice (Udhiya or Qurbani) is performed to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) test of faith. The meat is traditionally divided into three parts: one for family, one for friends and neighbours, and one for the needy.

In the UAE, residents are advised to use approved slaughterhouses and authorised services rather than performing the sacrifice in homes, streets, or public areas. This ensures hygiene, safety, and compliance with local regulations.

A Celebration of Faith and Unity

As the UAE comes together to observe Eid Al Adha 2026, the festival serves as a reminder of resilience, faith, and community spirit. Whether through prayer, charity, or gathering with loved ones, the occasion reinforces the values of compassion, generosity, and togetherness.
