The UAE's Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has officially announced a four-day paid holiday for private sector employees in observance of Eid Al Adha 2025.
The break will commence on Thursday, June 5, and continue through Sunday, June 8, with regular work resuming on Monday, June 9.
This announcement aligns with the public sector holiday schedule, ensuring uniformity in holiday observance across both sectors.
The decision follows the sighting of the Dhul Hijjah crescent moon, marking the beginning of the Islamic month and setting Eid Al Adha to start on Friday, June 6.
Eid Al Adha, also known as the "Festival of Sacrifice," is a significant Islamic holiday commemorating Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God.
The festival is marked by special prayers, charitable acts, and the sacrifice of livestock, with meat distributed among family, friends, and those in need.
With this extended weekend, residents and visitors can plan for travel, family gatherings, or participation in local festivities.
