50% of UAE Govt. Services to Run on AI Agents in 2 Years

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has unveiled an ambitious roadmap that will see half of the UAE's government sectors, services, and operations running on Agentic AI within the next two years. Launched under the direct orders of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, this initiative positions the nation as the first government globally to implement autonomous systems at such a massive scale.

In a post on X, Sheikh Mohammed emphasized a paradigm shift in how artificial intelligence is utilized. "AI is no longer a tool. It analyses, decides, executes, and improves in real time," he stated. "It will become our executive partner to enhance services, accelerate decisions, and raise efficiency." The announcement marks a move beyond passive automation toward active, decision-making agents that can independently manage complex government workflows.

The transformation comes with a strict timeline and clear metrics for success. "This transformation has a clear timeline. Two years," Sheikh Mohammed declared. "Performance across government will be measured by speed of adoption, quality of implementation, and mastery of AI in redesigning government work." To ensure the successful execution of this vision, oversight has been assigned to Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, with a dedicated taskforce chaired by Mohammad Al Gergawi driving the day-to-day implementation.

Central to this strategy is a massive investment in human capital. The government has committed to training every federal employee to master AI, aiming to build one of the world's strongest capabilities in AI-driven governance. Despite the rapid technological integration, the leadership stressed that the human element remains paramount. "The world is changing. Technology is accelerating. Our principle remains constant. People come first," Sheikh Mohammed added. "Our goal is a government that is faster, more responsive, and more impactful."

This bold move signals the UAE's intent to lead the global race in digital governance, leveraging autonomous agents to streamline bureaucracy, reduce response times, and deliver a more responsive public service experience to its citizens and residents.
